Application Process

General Information for 2023-2024

The beds in the Alice Holloway Young Commons are offered based on the date and time you apply and pay the application fee for housing, therefore it is important to review the process and apply on the recommended dates.

Please note: Our process is completely online and, because of electronic signatures and collecting credit card information, we are unable to do an application for you over the phone. Additionally, all information will come through your student email ONLY, so please check frequently for housing updates.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Log in to MyMCC using your MCC email address and password
  2. Select the Student Home tile
  3. Select the Housing tile
  4. Select the New Housing Self-Service Portal hyperlink
  5. Click on the housing application, complete it and pay the $200.00 application fee (refundable)
  6. All placements are made based on the completed (including payment) application date/time. You will receive a notification via your student email account regarding your housing status.

Application Timeline

If you haven't already, apply for Financial Aid! For aid to be in place by July 20 when bills are due, you need to complete the FAFSA application ASAP. It is highly recommended that you complete FAFSA at the same time you complete your tax return.

February - March: Guaranteed housing application process opens for all students. Returning students should complete application, select roommates and select housing during this time.

General Population students do not select roommates or rooms. Assignments are based on answers to housing application to pair students. Placements are based upon application date and time.

April: Placement emails for students in general population go out and then will go out every week on Thursdays. Responses are due 10 calendar days following the placement email.

Housing Application Agreement for 2023-2024

The housing agreement will be binding for the entire academic year. Therefore, students will be financially responsible for both semesters unless the Housing and Residence Life Department is able to re-establish occupancy following a student's request for release.

Students requesting to terminate the contractual obligation for the Spring 2024 semester must notify the Housing and Residence Life Office by December 2023. Students vacating due to graduation, internship, military enlistment, or transfer to another institution must provide supporting documentation by January 15, 2024.

Students requesting to vacate for any other purpose or who do not provide supporting documentation will also forfeit their $200 security deposit.
